A Broken Promise

Ok, ok. I did what I said I wasn't going to do. I fell back into my habit of neglecting my blog. I guess I didn't think I had anything to say. Well I still don't... but what ever. If you get bored, you can stop reading. So this is the first summer I did not leave home. The first summer since I was eight that I am home for more then a couple weeks. I thought I would be tear-my-hair-out-bored and go crazy, but the few things I have been doing have kept me busy. I have a job. I am a cashier at a Hardware store. I don't know anything about what the store sells, and can't answer any questions the customers have, but its entertaining. People can be so interesting. I enjoy talking to different people and seeing who comes in for what. I have a pretty analytical brain, meaning I like to analyze things, so people watching is fun. I work two or three days a week, and when I work 9-5, I come home feeling like my legs are going to fall off. I have legs issues. Its a known fact, so standing at a counter for eight hours probably is not the best for me... I think it may be aggravating my knee problems. I'll see what the doctor says next week. Besides standing and people watching, I have been babysitting. I love the two families I am working for right now. Both have the most adorable kids. One family has boy-girl twins, which in its self is a lot of fun, but I have a twin brother, so it is special for me. I also have been going to the pool/beach a fair amount. Even thought my aunts beach house is only an hour away, a day there feels like a week away. Also my family is crazy, so it is always fun going and spending the day with them.
I got my license. The first time I drove was to my friends house, and the whole five minute trip there, I felt like I was breaking the law, and that I wasn't supposed to be driving. Before my driving test, I kept having this dream where I was in the passenger seat, and the car was going, but no one was in the drivers seat, so I had to control the car from my seat. It was scary, and I think it meant I was nervous I didn't have control over the car, but I'm a good driver, I passed the test, and now I have freedom.
I have also been watching Grey's Anatomy from season one. When the show started I was only about nine, so I couldn't watch, but since I have been watching, so I decided to watch seasons one through eight... My dad thinks I'm crazy.
This summer has also been a summer of cleaning. My mom and I decided to clean out the entire house by September. So far the basement is almost done, the office is looking ten times better, and the bedrooms are neat and organized (at least mine is). The stuff a family can accumulate in 13 years in a house is crazy! We have so much stuff that we don't use or don't need. Someone could go shopping in our attic and think they were at Target or something.
I think this post is dragging on.... so I am going to end it... Hope everyone is having a good summer!

P.S. I have a new obsession with yellow nail polish... :)

Quick Hello

I am falling back into bad habits, but it won't last long, I hope. I have been wicked busy with school work, and I haven't found the time to blog. I have lots to share, but am taking a  break from my blog so I can focus on school. I only have 2.5 weeks of classes left, then will be posting all summer!

Favorite Teacher

Today was a half day, but I had a meeting with my English teacher, so I got lunch and ran back to school. Getting lunch took longer then it was supposed to because when my town has a half day, the restaurants fill with kids and unless you sprint out of school, it takes forever. I had about ten minutes to get back to school, so I ran. As I am huffing and puffing down the English Hall, I walk past my English classroom from last year, and I see my teacher from last year. She was on maternity leave when I got back from Israel, which I didn't know about. I literally did a double take. I walked by, saw her but kept walking, a second later I stopped, turned around and was like "wait, is that you!" I told her I had to run to a meeting, but I'll stop by on the way out. It was really nice catching up with her. She is one of my favorite teachers!

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back?

On March 9th I got a concussion. It was mild, and I was told it would be gone with in about two weeks. It is now May 2nd, and I thought I was symptom free, but yesterday I went to leave art, and was so dizzy I felt like the room was spinning, and my head was pounding. I was sent home. I took a nap hoping when I woke up it would be gone. It wasn't completely, and today I still have a minor headache.  I hope it is just a one time thing, and Friday at my doctors appointment I will be cleared for gym class. This always happens to me! When ever I get hurt, it always has to drag out or have a complication. Last year, almost exactly a year before this concussion, on March 11th, I broke my wrist. I was in gym class and was placed in goal since I have bad feet. I was doing pretty well until someone kicked the ball really hard and hit my wrist. Next thing I know, I am knelt on the ground holding my wrist. The nurse couldn't see a break, and neither could the doctor on the X-ray, so I was given a brace to wear until it felt better. A month later, after two more x-rays and an MRI, I was told I needed immediate surgery otherwise the bone might die... My mom and I lost it, we thought it was so funny. Long story short, I had surgery where they but a permanent screw in, ended up in the ER that night, stayed the night for "Pain Management" and still have pain in my wrist. I guess I have bad luck when it comes to injuries? Lets just hope this concussion doesn't end up like two of my other issues, where I have them fixed or they heal, and yet over a year later, they are still a problem... My fingers are crossed.

I got the Canadian

I know, I know, its been a few days, but I had a very important weekend. One of my best friends from my trip to Israel came to Boston, and stayed with me! Her name is Emma, and she one of my best Canadian friends. Ok take out the Canadian Part (Sorry Emma!)
Side Note: On my trip, there were only two students who were not from the US, and our only Canadian was Emma. Every place we went, someone would ask if anyone was from Canada, and everyone would look at Emma. We all loved it, but she got a bit annoyed after like the ten thousandth time...
Anyway, she flew in Friday, and since she lives in the city of Toronto, she didn't really know a lot about suburbs, so we drove though town centers and strolled down the matchy-matchy streets, and she loved it. She said it was "so cute!". Saturday, our friend from the trip Sara, drove up from the cape, and another girl from my town met up with us, and the four of us took the T into Boston. It was so much fun. I never want to go anywhere with my parents ever again.  (I get my License in July!)  I had made a reservation at Fire and Ice, so that is where we had lunch. I Normally don't like it, but I don't know if it is the company that makes the experience, or I just chose better food, but it was really nice. We left stuffed, and walked down Newbury Street. There were tons of street performers (unusually) and the sun was out, so it was really enjoyable just walking along. We went into Anthropologie and spent over an hour there. Just their decorations are enough to boggle at. I always love the little nik-naks scattered around the store. We also went to Urban, but that's always fun since it is my all time favorite store. We also stopped by Starbucks for a bathroom stop, and a cappuccino for me. Then we hopped on the  T headed back home.

That night my friend Liza slept over too, and the three of us walked up and down my street in the dark since it was nice out and was weirdly hot in my house. The next morning, my brother, mom, Emma and I went to a little dinner. Its always delicious! Emma tried bacon for the first time! I think she liked it. Before heading to the airport, we went to Target since Emma also had never been! Its unbelievable how people live with out target. I guess I don't get that much there, but it's such a great store. Emma stocked up on American snack foods like "fishies" aka Goldfish, and Jiff Peanut butter. She should be set until I can visit and bring more. :) I hope her visit was as good on her end as it was on mine!

SOOOO.... I have been uber busy, and will post soon!

Yes, they sell these at Urban Outfitters

Sold at Anthrogologie

The stand of a lamp at Anthro, made of old Film Reels, with real film!

Whoa There

Since I've been back to school these last two days, I feel like there is a ridiculous amount of stuff to be done. I had to go early today and stay after, and I though I had to stay after for one thing, but then I found there were four teachers I needed to see. Its like all of a sudden there is tons to be done, and a lot to be preparing for. Then I lay it out, there isn't too much, but already I have a quiz to make up, two tests, a book to read and lots of other homework. At the beginning of the year I made a promise to my self, to be in bed by 10:15 every night. I have not decided that is no longer possible, and accept the fact that for the next two months, I'll be tired. Plus I should probably get used to this since next year will be like this all the time. Don't you just love high school?

Last Umph

Pictures from my last vacation-like outing. (I did not personally take any of these, I got them all online)

New sneakers because I only have one pair, and they are still MIA.

A jean shirt!

New pair of Sperrys since the pair I have are falling apart and hurt my feet.

A light weight circle scarf for the warmer weather. Love my scarves.
